IT feels a lot like Christmas especially with the countdown to Shaw and Crompton’s Lights Switch-on well and truly on.
Santa Claus is already revving up his reindeers in readiness for his appearance at the festivities on Friday, November 24.
But Father Christmas certainly won’t be alone as organisers, Shaw and Crompton Events Group, have worked tirelessly to put on a show for all the family.
There are even free mince pies and, for those old enough, some mulled wine.
The three-hour show, from 5-8pm, takes place at three locations: Market Street, Shaw, the Lifelong Learning Centre and the Library, with the highlight the Lights Switch on at 6.30pm.
Youngsters can obtain their golden ticket to see Santa from 5pm with the ‘very old man’ with the white beard waiting for visitors at his grotto – the Lifelong Learning Centre – from 6.15pm.
Santa will be joined on stage by the ever popular TROLLS, supported by Anna’s Dance.
Crompton House School Band will lead the carol singing, a Scottish Piper will open the stage show and who wouldn’t want a free donkey ride?
For the younger audience Rogan Mills will be regaling Christmas Bedtime Stories at the Library.
There are also mascots, super heroes, a Christmas market and local shops to ensure the night is a success. Oh, and it is all free!
